Dr Morse is just down the road from my place so I decided on a recent Sunday morning to jump on the bike and check it out. Nestled under the Victoria Park train station this place is dead easy to find.
So when it comes to “feel” of Dr Morse it’s def a hipster haunt with more pub than eatery vibe. I’m cool with that but it did kinda bring my expectations down a little. Looking at the menu the prices didn’t bother dropping though.
So the main reason I wanted to check this place out was they eggs Benedict were listed among the best in Melbourne… Why oh why didn’t I do what I said I was going to to do?
Perhaps it was the blaring music, perhaps the heat, either way I changed my tune and went for the $17 BBQ pork wrap… Bad move. Pork was very dry and tough, the salad and bread were nice enough however I really should have wandered to Victoria St and got the same meal for $9.
Coffee was alright though took 2 requests to arrive as it got lost in an urgent “change of grind”. Umm ok.
So overall verdict? Overpriced pub food on the day I was there. Might be worth returning to actually try the eggs Benedict however motivation is currently low.
